很多家长都有这样的疑问：“美国出生的宝宝回国上户口合法吗？”根据《中华人民共和国国籍法》规定，父母双方或一方为中国公民，本人出生在外国，具有中国国籍。因此只要父母一方是中国公民并不持有绿卡宝宝就可以办理护照。美宝上了中国户口不会失去美国国籍。但因为中国不承认双国籍，在宝宝18岁的时候要选择放弃一国国籍。多给宝宝一个选择，何乐而不为呢？
